lights out

The Royal British Legion asked people across the UK to switch off their lights between 10pm and 11pm BST tonight and to light candles in a mass act of remembrance to mark the centenary of the start of the First World War.

We should never forget!

  1. My lights were out, I'm usually in bed before ten o clock.

  2. I am so glad you posted about this, we must never forget. Our candle was lit and lights out as my OH came in from work, so I made his supper by candle light. A small price to pay for all the people who died for our freedom.

  3. It was so touching to see so many people paying tribute. I had my candle lit. Lest we forget.

  5. I watched the service on the tv and it was so moving. I have now bought one of the poppies that are being put into the moat at the Tower of London so that after the installation I can have one of these to represent my family who lost their lives at the front and those who managed to survive this but live with their memories for the rest of their lives. We must never forget their sacrifice. xx
