1 finish + 1 nearly finished

I made my first thing from the crate yesterday - a nightie for my Mum's Christmas. There's no way my mum's nightie would fit on Diana the dummy - my mum is MUCH smaller than I am - so this is only pinned on which explains why it looks a bit odd.

Today's sewing was successful too. I've almost finished this "blank" - I'll be able to get it finished tomorrow. No full photos of this "blank" until after Christmas.

2 finishes - or almost finishes - in 2 days is very satisfying to me. Yay!

This final photo amused me. I had left the camera on the table in the sewing room and hadn't realised I'd left it switched on. When I noticed it was still on, I thought the view through the viewfinder was quite cool.

  1. Such artistic camera work! Well done on 'getting down to it' of course, there is always something else that HAS to be done. I am in the middle of a large crochet project at present - nothing to do with Christmas, does not actually need to be done for a while yet, but I did promise and have decided that I am quite keen on the project, so will continue and complete it before moving on to the next thing (another crochet present for my friend's 50th birthday). Whatever happened to one thing at a time???

    1. I like to think that it's one thing from all crafts at a time. So you can have a crochet project, a sewing project, a knitting project, a quilting project etc. etc. all on the go at one time and not break that "rule". :oD

  2. Well done for delving into the crate! Sounds like a productive couple of days to me. And loving the fabric of the 'blank' too :-)
    Happy making!

    1. Not just one other thing. I think there are 3 more things in that crate still to do. Maybe. :o)

  6. I bet you feel good now you're cracking on with things. I haven't made many presents this year, I got so bogged down with them last year that I didn't want the pressure.

    1. Now that I've got going with things, I feel that I might actually get them done soon. Then I'm not doing any more! Well, that's what I'm telling myself anyway! :oD

  7. Well done on the progress - I am nearing the end of my present making (hooray). I love the nightie for your Mum - very practical for getting on and off with the buttons.

    1. She told me she needed the buttons to be big enough to get a hold of so I hope those will do. I do have some bigger ones but somehow I don't think she'd appreciate 2" bright yellow buttons on her nightie! :oD

  8. You need to have a print of that photo hanging on your wall... you could even make note cards out of them too! Very nice...
