52 weeks of happy - week 11

Here are my 4 photos for this week.

1. This photo is called "Molly's Apology". She had been bark, bark, barking at a wee boy and his dog (and mum) who had the nerve to cycle/walk past our house. I might have shouted at her to stop barking and, about 5 minutes later, she literally sidled up on to the couch and sat as close as she could to me. I asked Debbie what on earth she was doing and, apparently, this was her apology for annoying me! As we say in Scotland - "what a sook". :oD

2. I showed these fabrics from the scrap bags I bought the other day but they still make me happy so I'm showing them again.

3. I started a granny square blanket last week and this is what I've done so far. I'm making an effort to use all the colours I have in my basket. They're making me happy so far!

4. I got my new spex last week. I'm happy that I can now see well enough with them to thread a needle! I was also very happy that they were buy one, get one free! Yay!

    1. Thanks, Freda! It's been a long, long time since I was a "happenin' babe" ... if I ever was one! :oD

  3. Oh that Molly is so sweet. How could you not forgive that sweet face. The grannies are looking good!! I love the glasses! Is one of them purple? Ha! Another thing we have in common. I have 2 pairs of purple glasses too. You have most excellent taste. :) So far I have hung in there with single vision lenses. One of these days I know I will have to look at progressives but I just dread having to get used to those so I will stall as long as I can. Enjoy your new ones. I am sure they look lovely.

    1. Yes, they're both sort of purpley. One is more pinky-purple and the other is a mauvey-purple. I bet that explains their colours really well! :oD

  4. Tee Hee, sweet Mollie - I love the word "sook" but it is just greeted with blank stares here in the south :-) (Along with blether, crabbit & numpty!)
    Have a great week,

  5. Awww, bless Molly. Archie thinks he owns the street and barks at anyone who dares to walk up it. I'm glad we don't have windows which go to the floor at the front otherwise he'd be barking most of the day. As it is, he can only see if he's sat on the sofa. The glasses on the left look very similar to one of my new pairs. Love the grannys, how are you going to join them?

    1. To join my grannies I put the squares right sides together then I do a 3 chain over the granny clusters and I then slip stitch into the gaps. I do them in rows and then join the rows together using the same that method as well. It is a quick way of joining them and, as I use only one colour to join them, it looks effective from the front and the back. I'll try and remember to take a photo of another blankie that I've made in the daylight and show you what it looks like.

  7. I'm off for an eye test after Easter and hope I don't need new glasses. Have bi-focals these days. Think I maybe crocheting a similar pattern for my granny squares, which will be a baby blankie. Will pop a photo on my blog later this week. Would love to join them like Jo has.
As for the word "sook", we use it all the time here in Australia. Molly is lovely though.

    1. How interesting that "sook" is used in Australia and yet our nearest neighbours don't use it. That's fascinating!

  8. Ahh, big brown eyes, bless her. My little King Charlie chased after a bird today that was in the greenhouse, instead of the open door she went through the glass. All's well, paws are safe, but has the 'feel sorry for me' eyes going on! Love the blanket in progress, squares...my house if full of them at the moment! Take care. Chel x

  9. Wow, so many comments! You have become so popular Anne.

Love the colors in your granny squares. And it's funny about Molly. At least she doesn't do what mine does when she's been yelled at..... she comes and licks your feet as she circles around and around them. She's tiny so that's about what she can get too. If Molly did that you'd be dripping wet! rofl

Thanks for taking the time to comment on my blethers. I really appreciate it. I do try to reply to everyone but sometimes life just gets in the way of that happening! :o)
